La edición 2009 del clásico libro del Prof. Henrich viene corregida y aumentada.
Si bien tiene casi el mismo número de páginas que la edición anterior, la letra es más pequeña, hay más información, de suyo, más actualizada.
Conserva la claridad y amenidad que ya es conocida y que da cuenta de la excelencia editorial.
Los gráficos y figuras están bien diseñados, ayudan a clarificar, aún más, los conceptos.
El libro comienza explicando las caracteráisticas de la membrana de diálisis, continúa con los accesos vasculares, anticoagulación, el modelo cinético de la urea, adecuación, diálisis de alto flujo, diálisis continua, fármacos en diálisis,peritoneodiálisis, y después, casi la mitad del libro, son los problemas clínicos de un enfermo dializado, a saber, hipertensión, problemas nutricionales, ácido base, hemostasia,diálisis en el anciano, estudio de trasplante, medidas de calidad, etc.
En síntesis, un libro que en 752 páginas reúne el conocimiento más sólido sobre diálisis, expuesto en forma amena y con una cuidada edición.

Great reference, but companion website is elusive

I like this book a lot--it's come in handy during fourth year clinical year rotations in veterinary school. I know I will use it a lot when I get to my first job. This series was highly recommended to me by a practicing vet who says he uses them a lot. I also really like the Clinical Veterinary Adviser, 3rd edition. I use both of them. The Clinical Vet Adviser has a really great, easy to use companion website that I use a lot. However, this Five-Minute Consult, although it claims to have a companion website, the website included in the book doesn't seem to exist. It anyone can help me figure out what's going on, I'd appreciate it.

Great for anyone in the vet med field

I absolutely love this book!! I am a registered veterinary technician who is going to vet school and while I already knew a lot about diseases, illnesses, etc. This book goes into great detail!! Gives treatment options, prognosis, pharmacy advice for prescriptions, what breeds it typically happens in, and so much more. Well worth the money and would make a perfect gift for anyone in the veterinary medicine field!

Only for die-hard shifter fans

It seems like a new crop of M/M books with the same synopsis and closely related titles -- Claimed by the Alpha, Mated to the Alpha, Taken by the Alpha -- you get my meaning, have overtaken the Top 100 List. Now that isn't a BAD thing, as I love gay shifters and male pregnancy, but the common theme is all these books upon further reading is that they have the same, exact plot. And quite frankly, its getting boring; even to me, a die-hard shifter lover.

"Mated to the Billionaire Alpha" suffers that fate. We get a jerk main character with a secret (he's a furry beastie) and a twinky guy who works for him. In my opinion the jerk boss never recovered from his jerk-like status so I wasn't buying why his twinky employee would fall in love with him, let alone sleep with him! Plus, the mpreg is in the epilogue, its told not really shown and made no sense in the context of world building. It was never explained how a human man got pregnant and EVERYONE just accepted it and didn't freak out. So, very poor execution on the backstory and world building in this universe.

I guess you are looking for an erotic tale of a shifter billionaire and his human lover in a very short read, this book might be for you. However, I require a little more plot and explanation on why a dude can get knocked up, even with shifter abilities. I think if this book had been 20 pages longer and had developed the characters more fully, this could have been a great read. But grammar problems, a fore mentioned plot and characterizations issues made this a slightly dull read.

This is by far the worst book I've ever read this year

This is by far the worst book I've ever read this year! And yes, I know I've given that award to some other book but I think it is justifiable to say that this book easily snatched away the Worst Book of the Year 2015 award. The characters were one-dimensional and shallow. Okay, I get the one-dimensional aspect because most of these Free Kindle Unlimited books tend to have one-dimensional characters and I have more than enjoyed some of them. However, this book had me making disgusting faces and grunting until I finally finished it, because once I start a book I make sure to finish it no matter what.
The writing seemed like the uninspired imagination of an 8th grader and it was just painful to see the thought process of Jesse and how he was upset his cousin told him he couldn't land a straight guy, like that was the biggest he had. He was shallow and vain and that just more than pissed me off. The "Alpha" was annoying as hell and there was no explanation for his abrupt departure after basically brutalizing Jesse's mouth during that blow job scene and then Jesse forgives him just from a few honey-coated words, really? And then there was the end where the author tries to show retribution for Jesse by describing his cousin, Daniel, as having changed in appearance and not for the better and his boyfriend was "skinny and nerd-looking" (or something like that). What is so bad about being skinny or being a nerd. I happen to enjoy reading about skinny nerds or fat nerds! UGH! So, yea this book was HORRIBLE, so glad I got it for free and I definitely am no ever gonna trust reviews again, especially when there are only 2 reviewers.

That's great and all but now as a 40 Something mother of three, I don't see the bright lights of an open mic night becoming part of my future. How do I blend the truth and pain of being told you are incredibly funny with a strong desire to amp up my photography blogging? Enter this incredibly witty and extremely well-written book chock full of examples and practical ways of implementing the techniques in several different mediums.

Heck, I am not even finished with the book and felt compelled to leave a review. #HeadofTheClass

This book is amazing! I purchased it with the plan of starting to write some of my own bits. I wrote one or two but never pursued it much further because life got in the way. I will say, however, that it was still very much a worthwhile purchase if for no other reason than learning more about the mechanics of comedy has actually allowed me to appreciate just watching and listening to comedy even more!

Real tools to build funny

Finally, a book that offers real tools and exercises to help you write humor. After you get the basics, John Vorhaus helps you understand what makes it funny and what slows it down and shows you how to get the laugh instead of just head nods because they realize you are ironic. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to write humor on demand. Other books interview humorists and share tips for doing stand-up, while managing to never actually give you a single tool to write a joke. John immediately takes you by the hand and gets you writing jokes on any subject, in a variety of styles.

I would love to see John write a book focused on the Comic Strip and similar short form humor.

A comprehensive and thorough book

Myself and my colleague are both currently final year civil engineering students at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and have been using this book for the past year. We found it to be very comrehensive and easy to apply to relevant practical models. A five star rating would shyly describe this book.

I bought this book when I was doing my masters course of Transportation Planning and found this book to be extremely usefull. Book is written in such a way so that every topic has been explained in a very easy language. I really enjoyed reading this book.

I like to consider myself fairly advanced at NLHE

I like to consider myself fairly advanced at NLHE. But I kept coming back to the same weakness in my game; the math. I've never been big on math in poker, even though I recognize it's incredibly important. Most of it stems from my weakness at all aspects of math, but also because I could never find a book that clearly explained it to me without becoming overwhelming. When it comes to math I need something simple and also something that grabs and keeps my attention. This book did just that. You get plenty of examples to practice, and even charts and "cheat sheets" to make it even easier. Whether you're an advanced player or a beginner at NLHE I believe this is a book you need to have in your poker library.

Many valuable concepts

It's a quick and easy read lots of solid concepts explained. I liked how it gave you two ways to calculate pot odds: the ratio method and the percentage method. I was only familiar with the ratio method before reading this. My only issue with the book is there are a number of typos. Not necessarily misspellings but using the word "two" when it should have been "to" and other similar scenarios. Just little things like that. Not a big deal but it does make me question how closely some of the material was checked. Either way for such a great price there's no excuse not to read it if you're into playing poker.

Great book. I hope nobody buys this book cause I will have a great advantage over them. The author is well organized. There are great courses in the book. Probability, odds, ratios, risk reward issues, calls, bets, bluffs math issues are tough. This book deals with poker math like nobody else. It is a must to have if you play poker. I will by Alton Hardin's next book for sure

When Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) died in 1954, her husband Diego Rivera asked the poet Carlos Pellicer to turn her family home, the fabled Blue House, into a museum. Kahlo's photograph collection was a major revelation among these finds, a testimony to the tastes and interests of the famous couple, not only through the images themselves but also through the telling annotations inscribed upon them. Frida Kahlo: Her Photos allows us to speculate about Kahlo's and Rivera's likes and dislikes, and to document their family origins; it supplies a thrilling and hugely significant addition to our knowledge of Kahlo's life and work.

So many photos

Seems like hundreds of pictures, almost all are interesting and historically meaningful. I felt like I got into Kahlo's basement, stumbled on a box of old photos, and made off with it. It seems more like a stack of family photos than professional shots until you get into it and find photos by Madotti, Weston, Man Ray and the like. And the photos themselves include eeverything from family snapshots, to Christmas cards, to formal pictures of statesmen. From pictures of Madotti and Weston to Trotsky, to Rivera and Kahlo (of course), to the unknown (including a murdered striker). Read a biography of Frida Kahlo and most of the characters will be found in photos in this book. It's well worth the trip if you like photography, history (of that time), Kahlo/Rivera, and art.

I borrowed this book from the local college library to check it out. I find it a great book of photos -black and white and sepia . Along with written articles before each section. 401 photographs. I am ordering my copy today.

If you like Frida Kahlo you will love this book

The photographs in this high quality book give new insight into Frida Kahlo's life and times. Black and white, sepia and gray photographs abound. We see Frida, her family, her friends, the home she loved, the places she visited and animals she adored. It's truly wonderful book. Highly recommended.
